As I mentioned a while back, August brought a trip from Seth's family (the 11th to the 18th). In addition to the Exotic Ranch, here are some other photo highlights of the trip. It was so fun to see them, even though we all agreed it would have been better if it wasn't so dang HOT!! The kids are all growing so fast and we hope it's not too long before we're all together again.
August 28th, Seth headed downtown for a new tattoo. He has been anticipating this one since before the boys were born. Luckily, he has found a tattoo artist that likes to trade tattoos for items. Since we've been purging our stuff for a while now, he has found it pretty easy to find things to offer up. Anyway, he got the boys handprints (we actually made the prints when they were 8 weeks old just for this reason). He plans to add their names, in their own handwriting (the very first time they write it, with back words letters and such) as soon as we get to that point. We think they turned out great...her's a pic :)

The end of August and beginning of September brought a visit from Auntie Andrea, Seth's birthday and our first ever night away. Auntie came out and that very night, as a surprise birthday gift for Seth, we headed into Austin for a night on the town and an overnight stay.
We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn right near 6th Street. We checked in, and headed out for dinner. We walked to the Iron Cactus...so yummy! Then walked around a bit (realizing that 6th Street is not really our cup of tea) before stopping in the Babalu Cirgar Co. This cool little shop hand rolls their own brand of cigars. We watched the guy roll for a little bit, then Seth grabbed a few cigars, we both got some coffee and headed back to our hotel. We sat outside by the pool for a while, enjoying our coffee, a cigar for Seth and some great conversation. After that, like the party animals we are, we headed to bed before 10. It was nice and relaxing to get to sleep in a bit, wake up slowly and enjoy a quiet breakfast together before heading home for lunch with the clan.

Auntie's trip was fun, but ended way too fast. Once we got back from our night away, we enjoyed celebrating Seth's birthday. Unfortunately, we don't have any photos :( I came back with a pretty nasty tummy bug, that made it's way to Seth a few days later. We're all recovered now, but it was a pretty rough week for us. Anyway, while Auntie was here, we had our fantasy football draft (we all play in the same league). The preparation for & actual draft occupied most of the evenings she was here. So, before she left I made her plan her next trip. We can't wait to see her in November!!
Finally, the biggest development in our lives has to do with Seth's job. Some events at work have created an incredible opportunity for him, but have made things at home rough temporarily. Last week he got the news that they wanted him back in Waco. That means back to the hour & a half commute each way for a while. Professionally this is a great move! He has gone from being responsible for 1/2 of the properties in a single community to all the properties in 2 communities. It also appears to be the foundation for a more permanent move and a promotion in the coming months.
This also means, that come March (when our lease is up), we'll be looking to move our family further north than we had thought. We've decided to try our best to hold off on formulating a plan until January. In the meantime, we covet your prayers for safe travels, for strength & for clear direction on God's plan for us. Seth will get to see the boys for maybe a 1/2 hour each day if we're lucky and that's just no fun for anyone. Thankfully, this is temporary and an answer to years of prayer. We're not sure of what the future holds, but we do know who holds the future!

Although we hate to see you guys move further away, we're excited to see what's to come for your family. Congrats to Seth, and we'll keep wishing the best for all of you. :)
How did you all like Hoppin Hippo? Was it something your boys did okay? Do you think you could do it by yourself?
