This year we decided to have a nice relaxing Easter at home free from 'normal' festivities. We have been MIA from church for a while (we have attempted to go twice since the boys were born and it didn't really work). With cold & flu season passing and the boys getting big enough for us to feel comfortable leaving them in the nursery, we are ready to get back in the swing of things. However, we figured Easter was probably not the best Sunday to attempt to ease our boys into the routine of church. So, we stayed home this week and will be trying out a new church next Sunday.
Last Easter was spent recovering from Turner & Jaxson's birth in the hospital. It was really early (March 23rd) and we brought the boys home the next day. We had been given these adorable Easter baskets by the Gainer's and had to take some photos of the boys in them just a few days old...I guess they are already in the habit of celebrating late :) We are going to fill baskets for them and take pictures early next week (tough times call for after Easter clearance :).

Just a few days ago, I got an email from our sweet neighbor, Alicia. She and her husband were inviting a few of the neighbors, who don't have family in town, over for a little Sunday brunch. Since we had a free schedule and we rarely get out, we decided to take them up on the offer. They had an amazing spread of quiche, bacon, ham, eggs, & fruit. We brought some cinnamon rolls and our other neighbors brought some delicious cookies. It was really an nice time and a very yummy meal.

Turner & Jaxson were amazing! They really are the best little boys ever! We have never gone to a friends house for a meal (let alone a house with no kids), so we were hoping they would do well. They sat in their seats and ate with us for over an hour. No meltdowns, no tantrums...just all smiles, giggles and cute! They tried lots of new foods and even kept the mess to a minimum. They provided the entertainment with spoon tricks & touchdowns!
It was a great, relaxing Easter Sunday. We read the story of the crucifixion and resurrection before bed time and said some extra prayers of thanks to Jesus for dying on the cross for each and every one of us.
We hope you had a wonderful Easter Sunday and that you took time to reflect on the gift of Christ on the cross for you!

I am so glad you took your neighbors up on the offer for brunch. Especially since they don't have kids. WOW! And I'm sure you're more inclined to do it again since the boys were well behaved. Glad it all worked out!
